discover your true identity… learn who you truly are + what you want

Can you remember the last time that you sat down and really thought about what you truly needed out of life or asked yourself what you really wanted? If you answered “No girl, what does that even mean?!” I was absolutely right there with you.

I can honestly say that up until 5 years ago, I don’t believe that I ever asked myself those questions or even thought about who I truly was. Looking back, it is no wonder why I felt so lost and unaligned. My life consisted of things that I thought I should be doing or that things others expected of me. I wasn’t doing ONE THING that I truly wanted because I never took the time to figure out what that was.

Once I started to discover what I truly wanted and needed my life did a complete and shocking 180. If you would have asked me 5 years ago if I would have ever shut down my business, start homeschooling my son, become a somatic/meditation educator + facilitator and feel called to help women discover who they truly are I would have told you there is no way in hell that would EVER happen. But guess what?! ALL of that has happened.

When I started to really question what I wanted and needed in my life and do the work of discovering who I truly am, I started to shed all of the expectations of the world and others and step into what I believe I am truly meant for and who I authentically am. I want the same for you.

Taking the time to dive into who you truly are, what you really want, and what you actually need can really set you on the course to your truest purpose in this world. Doing this is likely to help you become more aligned, happy, and at peace.

Let’s dive into how you can discover your true identity and learn who you truly are.

what is self identity?

Self-Identity is recognizing and standing firm in your individual qualities and potential. It is the awareness of who you are and how you fit into your environment.

Discovering your identity is simply about finding what make you, YOU.

why is self identity and discovery important?

When you can identify your true self and live your life in an authentic way, you are on your way to becoming fully self discovered and show up as your most authentic version of yourself.

Benefits of Self Identity + Discovery:

  • Develops self-confidence

  • Provides a sense of security

  • Develop a deep self-understanding

  • Increases self-awareness

  • Stand firm in beliefs + values

  • Allows you to make the best decisions for yourself

how to practice self confidence + trust:

There are so many ways and avenues to explore when diving into self confidence + trust but here are practices that I find extremely beneficial:

  1. Start a self identity affirmation practice:

    Affirmations are a powerful way to change your mindset and help you adopt new ways of thinking. To learn all about affirmations and create your own self acceptance affirmations, download our FREE affirmation e-book.

  2. Start a self identity journal using journal prompts:

    Journaling is a great way to dive into a certain subject and using journal prompts can also be a great way to dive even deeper. Please see below for 5 journal prompts to get you started:

    1. What motivates you to get up in the morning?

    2. When are you the happiest?

    3. If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?

    4. What are your core values?

    5. What emotions or viewpoints do you have trouble expressing because you are afraid of what others may think?

  3. Get in the habit of asking yourself what you want:

    Start a daily practice of asking yourself “what do I need today?” and do your best to try to achieve that for yourself.

  4. Work with a counselor or therapist :

    If you find that tapping into this side of yourself is difficult or if you need more support, working with a licensed mental health professional would be a great option if that is an available option for you.

  5. Guided Workbooks:

    Guided self identity workbooks can be extremely helpful if you are wanting to do this journey on your own. There are so many wonderful options out there and the one I have created would be an extremely helpful option as well. You can find our Self Identity Workbook here!

  6. Guided Meditations:
